Generic Data Acquisition System

--Photo-- P dV is designing a "generic" data acquisition system to allow the user to install the appropriate hardware, copy the software onto the computer with the data acquisition card, and after entering channel names and calibration data, begin monitoring and recording data. The system would be suitable for a very simple engine test cell data acquisition system, or in most other situations where a data acquisition is required. At a minimum, the current design specification includes the following:

• National Instruments Data Acquisition card and SCXI signal conditioning hardware
• Up to 24 analog input channels (scalable in increments of 8)
• Up to 32 temperature input channels (Type K)
• User selectable channel names and units
• User inputs of channel calibration gain and offset for calculation of units
• User selected digital and analog channel displays
• Time history graph of data with user selectable channels
• Data acquisition rates up to 25 Hz, and display rates up to 5 Hz

If you have needs that are different from the above, please contact P dV with your specifications, and we can discuss the option of quickly modifiying this basic system to meet your needs. P dV also has a variety of sample codes from other applications designed in the past that may be adaptable to your needs.

Engine Test Cell Data Acquisition System

--Photo-- P dV is designing a basic engine test cell data acquisition system to allow the user to install the appropriate hardware, copy the software onto the computer with the data acquisition card, and after entering channel names and calibration data, begin monitoring and recording data. The system would be suitable for a basic engine test cell data acquisition system is required. At a minimum, the current design specification includes the following:

• National Instruments Data Acquisition card and SCXI signal conditioning hardware
• Up to 24 analog input channels (scalable in increments of 8)
• Up to 32 temperature input channels (Type K)
• User selectable channel names and engineering units
• User inputs of channel calibration gain and offset for calculation of units
• Analog displays for engine rpm, manifold pressure, oil pressure, oil temperature, and exhaust temperatures
• User selected digital channel displays
• Time history graph of data with user selectable channels
• Data acquisition rates up to 25 Hz, and display rates up to 5 Hz
• Post processing of data in real time for most engine test cell required parameters, including SAE J1349 Correction Factors.

• User selection of event-based (every trigger event), or time-based (at one trigger)
• Data acquisition rates up to that allowed by the data acquisition card
• User inputs of channel calibration gain and offset to calculate units in real time

Engine Cylinder Pressure High-Speed Data Acquisition System

--Photo-- P dV is designing a full-featured high speed data acquisition system for obtaining engine cylinder pressures. This would allow the user to install the appropriate hardware, copy the software onto the computer with the data acquisition card, and after entering channel names and calibration data, begin monitoring and recording data. The system would be suitable for use in an engine test cell or in most other situations where engine pressure instrumentation is available. At a minimum, the current design specification includes the following:

• National Instruments Data Acquisition card
• Up to 8 engine cylinders (user selectable from 1 to 8)
• User selection of event-based (every trigger event), or time-based (at one trigger)
• Data acquisition rates up to that allowed by the data acquisition card
• Engine crankshaft encoder checking routines
• Input for manifold pressure transducer (including calibration gain and offset) used to peg cylinder pressures
• User input for transducer calibration gains
